iChat Matte

If you have noticed from my recent screenshots, I'm not too fond of the aqua-in-your-face that's still present in Tiger today. Leapord looks like it's shaping up to be really nice looking, but until then, I've done my best to tone-down aqua as much as I can.

iChat is one app that's got plenty of aqua, so I set out to tone it down just a bit.

iChat Matte is an installer that will replace the standard iChat talk bubbles with more subtle matte ones. They especially look great with more subtle GUI styles like UNO. It uses layered TIFF's with the bottom-most layer being the original talk bubbles, so you shouldn't have to worry about loosing anything. But if you are really worried, you can backup your iChat.app before installing.

You can download iChat Matte by clicking the image above or here. You can also use the comments on this post to report any issues/bugs/etc... and I'll get on them. This has only been tested with 10.4.9 but should work with any version of Tiger. Use at your own risk.
